Hero Glamour, Passion XPro, Maestro 110 and Duet No More On Sale in BS6 Era!

Hero has taken down the Glamour, Passion XPro, Maestro 110 and Duet Scooters in the BS6 era and several other products have been shuffled as well. Hero is still left to update majority of the 200cc range.

Since the BS6 emission norms became effective from April 1, Hero MotoCorp has taken down four models from their website. The models include the Hero Glamour, Passion XPro, Maestro 110 and the Duet scooters and these have been completely axed and will no longer be on sale in the BS6 era. As of now, Hero’s official website does not list out its 200 cc models like the XTreme 200T, Xtreme 200R, Xtreme 200S either.

However, models like the Glamour FI, Passion Pro i3S and the Splendor Pro i3S have been updated to meet the BS6 norms but have now been rebadged as the Glamour BS6, Passion Pro BS6 and Splendor Pro BS6 respectively. As for the Hero Maestro 110 and Duet 110 scooters, they have completely been replaced by the Maestro 125 in the BS6 era. The Hero Maestro 125 was launched in India last year.

Thus, Hero’s most powerful motorcycle in its current lineup as it stands on their website is the XPulse 200. The XPulse 200 has done well for the company and it was Hero’s first 200cc model to get the BS6 update. However, the fate of the Xtreme 200R, the Xtreme 200S and the XPulse 200T is still unknown. The Xtreme 200R has done fairly well for Hero but the XPulse 200T and the Xtreme 200S hasn’t been received by the audience so well. It could be possible that Hero introduces BS6 versions of select 200 cc models and not all three of them.

However, in compensation for all products discontinued or to be discontinued, Hero has a brand new product and that’s the XTreme 160R. The Hero Xtreme 160R is a completely brand new motorcycle and with this, Hero will be back in the premium commuter motorcycle segment. In fact, Xtreme 160R was supposed to be launched in April 2020 itself but with the ongoing lockdown and coronavirus scare, everything stands suspended now. Hero’s manufacturing facilities and all dealers across the country are shut as well and it could be some time before the new Xtreme 160R is officially launched.

Domestic sales stood at 316,685 units, a drop of 42.7% as compared to 553,302 units sold in March 2019. On the other hand, exports stood at 17,962 units, a decline of 35.7% as against 27,977 units over March 2019.
