This Suzuki Jimny has been modified Mr. Carlos Gono of AutoPlus and it produces more than double the original power and sounds sportscar like. Amazing!
The Suzuki Jimny has become an iconic car over the generations for being a proper budget friendly off-roader. It is currently in its forth generation but its basic philosophy has remained the same ever since its inception – light weight, compact dimensions and great off-road capability. This also makes the Jimny a very popular car in the after market scene and you will find numerous modified Jimny’s for even better off-road capability. But here we have an example of a modified Jimny that intends to be something else.
This modified Jimny that you see here has a power output of 155bhp and it claims to be the fastest Jimny in the world. This modified Jimny belongs to Mr. Carlos Gono of AutoPlus and this is his second forth-generation Jimny in his garage. He perhaps bought a second Jimny only to modify it and how! This Jimny comes fitted with a turbo-kit by F-Performance, an UAE-based tuner.
The turbo-kit essentially brings along a turbocharger, custom fuel injectors and a new ECU as well. The owner has also added a wastegate blow-off valve, Autoplus side exhaust system, RSR lowering springs, Autoplus brake rotors and pads, 18-inch Volk Racing concave alloy wheels and Recaro bucket seats. The result is that the motor now produces 155bhp, more than double what the Jimny originally produces.

Part of the modification also includes the deletion of the spare wheel at the rear, and that saves weight by a few kilos. Also, for better heat dissipation and lubrication, this Jimny uses race-grade 300V engine oil from Motul. Mr. Gono takes his car modification very seriously and has used top notch mechanical components for the upgrade. Visually, the black bumpers and body cladding have been made body-colored and it also gets a custom grille. Add on some old-school decals and the 18-inch wheels will complete the look for you.

Maruti Suzuki debuted the Jimny in India at the 2020 Auto Expo and although they did not have any plans of launching the car in India initially, seeing audience enthusiasm at the Expo, they are actually going to launch it in India. Sources say that it is likely going to happen sometime next year but the Jimny you will get in India will be five-door version. Well, that’s good or bad, we do not know but we sure are excited to see what modifications Indian bring about to the Jimny when we finally have it here.
