Datsun has launched the BS6 Go and Go+ in India with no significant changes other than BS6 compliance but the prices for the Go has gone up by Rs 25,000 on average while the Go+ sees a hike of Rs 5,000 on average.
Datsun has finally launched the BS6 compliant versions of the Go hatchback and the Go+ MPV in India. The BS6 Datsun Go is now available for a starting price of Rs 3.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 6.25 lakh for the top-end variant. Meanwhile, the Go+ MPV is available for a starting price of Rs 4.20 lakh and goes up to Rs 6.70 lakh for the top-end variant, all prices are ex-showroom.
There re no significant changes on the BS6 complaint versions of the Datsun Go and Go+ except for the engines being upgraded to the stricter emission norms. Both the cars continue to be powered by a 1.2-Liter, four-cylinder petrol engine. When mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the engine produces 68hp and 104Nm of torque. Both the cars also get the option of a CVT gearbox and in case of the automatic, the engine produces 77hp. The Go and Go+ are the only cars in the segment to be offered with a CVT gearbox.
With the BS6 update, the manual version of the Go hatchback sees a price hike of Rs 22,000 while the automatic variant sees a hike of Rs 28,000. The premium for the Go+ MPV is however much lesser with the manual and automatic prices going up by Rs 4,000 and Rs 8,000 respectively. As before, both the cars will continue to be offered in five variants – D, A, A(O), T and T (O) – and the automatic gearbox option is only available on the top-spec T(O) variant.

The interiors and features list for the BS6 Datsun Go and Go+ also remain unchanged. Some notable features include 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear washer/wiper, electrically adjustable ORVMs, LED DRLs, rear parking sensors and 14-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. In terms of safety, both cars get dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist, and vehicle dynamic control (ESP) which is a unique feature in the segment.

With the BS6 update, Datsun has also introduced new financing schemes for both the cars. These include ‘Buy Now and Pay in 2021’ which essentially allows you to buy the car now and start paying EMIs from next year. There’s also a 100 percent finance option, Low EMI Benefit and EMI assurance benefit as well. In India, the Datsun Go competes with the likes of the Hyundai Santro, Tata Tiago facelift, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Maruti Suzuki Celerio. Meanwhile, the Go+ competes with the Renault Triber.
