Honda CRV Might Never Get A Diesel Engine and AWD From Now

Honda has discontinued the diesel engine from CRV due to the BS6 norms and reports suggest that it is gone forever.

Honda CRV is now a petrol-only SUV as its diesel engine was discontinued a couple of months ago. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, operations across the country were halted and that’s why Honda got delayed in launching its BS6 diesel engine. Except Amaze, no other Honda car offers a diesel engine right now.

This engine came with All-Wheel-Drive as standard fitment. It continues with its 2.0 Litre NA petrol engine that produces 154 BHP and comes mated to a CVT gearbox.

The diesel CRV also came with the three-row 7-seater option, while the petrol variants came as a 5-seater only. Having the option of three rows was better and more practical for the CRV as most of its rivals offered such. However, it was always known to be a lifestyle and comfortable SUV and was not that high on practicality.

CRV boasts of many premium features like heated seats, LED headlamps, Automatic headlamps, Rain sensing wipers, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof and much more. Safety features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), traction control, reverse parking sensors, reverse parking camera and much more.
