Honda To Replace WRV With An All-New Sub Compact SUV

In a recent report, officials from Honda have suggested that they will bring an all-new subcompact SUV in the next two years, replacing the WRV.

Honda is one of the very few car makers that is still not existent in the sub-compact SUV segment. It has the SUV-crossover WRV in the same price range and positioned as a small SUV. However, many buyers also think it is a bigger hatchback because its shape, as said earlier, is like a crossover and not a proper SUV.

Seeing tremendous popularity in the SUV segment, Honda has decided to buckle up and focus more towards SUVs. It has plans for two new SUVs including a replacement for the WRV and a 4.2 metre SUV. The latter will definitely be a rival to the likes of Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

The new sub-compact SUV is currently under development and is reported to be out by 2022. It will be built on the platform of the new Amaze, which is lightweight and sturdy. The new SUV will flaunt a completely fresh design with all the typical Honda styling cues. Further details are expected to be out in the coming months.

Honda WRV is a very stylish crossover/SUV but not that great selling. In its earlier days, Honda achieved a great start with it however, over the years, its popularity declined. The primary reason for that would be its outdated cabin and fewer premium features when compared to the rivals.

Honda is soon going to launch the updated BS6 WRV. The bookings for it have begun and it has already started reaching dealerships as well. It will continue with the same 1.5 Litre diesel and 1.2 Litre petrol engine and the same gearbox options as well. WRV was introduced back in 2017 and is receiving its first update now.
