Zac Hollis, Director- Sales, Service & Marketing, Skoda Auto India has said, “Initially we sold out the Octavia RS but then there were some cancellations due to the Covid situation in the country. So a few RS are available for customers. For many people personal situation has changed, but it also gives an opportunity to those who missed out on booking the new Octavia.” Deliveries for the car have already begun and the first Skoda Octavia RS 245 was delivered to a customer in Goa as soon as the lockdown restrictions were eased.

Skoda launched the 2020 Octavia RS 245 at the Auto Expo this year for a price of Rs 35.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and that was a full Rs 10 lakh more expensive than the Octavia RS from 2017. The RS 245 is is loved by enthusiasts and critics alike and it was always meant to be a sell out product. Zac Hollis said that the response to the car has been ‘fantastic’. Incidentally, the RS 245 is actually the last batch of Octavias of the current-gen model that will be sold in India. What a fitting end to a really credible vehicle in the executive sedan segment. Skoda has discontinued the current-gen model in India post the BS6 norms and the next-gen model will only arrive in India by early 2021.

The car has lesser ground clearance than the previous car and it still prioritizes its sporty driving dynamics over anything else.
