Just like many other motorcycle manufacturers, KTM has hiked the price of all its motorcycles right from the 125s to the 390s, the hike ranging in between Rs 4,000-5,000.
A lot of motorcycle manufacturers are currently increasing the prices of their products and that includes the likes of Yamaha, Bajaj, Royal Enfield and even Husqvarna. Another manufacturer to join this race of price hike is KTM. The Austrian manufacturer has increased the prices of all their motorcycles including the latest 390 Adventure. It was only in January that KTM launched their entire fleet of BS6 motorcycles with which they saw a hike in price and five months from then, here’s another increase.

When KTM introduced the BS6 updates, it will just the engines that were updated for the stricter emission norms along with a price increase. The Duke 200 however received a comprehensive update with significant changes in looks along with new components and additional few features as well. With this current update, KTM has hiked the prices of all the motorcycles in the range of Rs 4,000-5000. None of the motorcycles however feature any other update on them.
The KTM Duke 200 and RC 200 are powered by a 199.5 cc single-cylinder, four-valve, DOHC, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine still puts out maximum power of 24.7 bhp at 10,000 rpm, and peak torque of 19.3 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Meanwhile the Duke 250 is powered by a BS6 compliant 248.7cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 30 hp at 9000 RPM and 24 Nm of peak torque at 7000 RPM. The engine comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.

Meanwhile, the Duke 390, RC 390 and 390 Adventure come powered by a 373.2cc single-cylinder engine with 44hp produced at 9,000rpm and 37Nm of torque coming in at 7,000rpm. The engine is offered in the same state of tune in all the three motorcycles. Meanwhile, the smallest KTMs in India – the Duke 125 and RC 125 are powered by a 124.7 cc single cylinder, Liquid Cooled, FI, DOHC engine that produces 14hp at 9,000 rpm and 12 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.

Interestingly, KTM’s flagship offering in India – the Duke 790 – has been left out of this mix of price hike. However, the mass market KTM motorcycles are now almost Rs 9,500-10,000 more expensive than their BS4 counterparts. Suprisingly, KTM is gradually losing their value for money aspect like they had a couple of years ago with these regular hikes in prices. Admitted, these motorcycles feature premium components and phenomenal performance but KTM shouldn’t lose out on their value appeal.
