This Modified Honda City Is Ready For Some Serious Off-Roading

Here is one example of a modified Honda City from Thailand which gets some high-end off-roading equipment onboard.

Ever wondered if you can take any car except an SUV for off-roading? There’s still some chance with hatchbacks because of their ground clearance, but definitely not with sedans. However, here is one example of a modified Honda City that looks like it is brute enough to take on some serious off-roading.

As you can see, the owner has replaced the normal bumpers with specialized bumpers for off-roading. You can literally see the radiator of the car. These bumpers are very sturdy and can withstand some serious impact. Then you can see spotlight-type headlamps installed on the roof, obviously for better lighting.

Then, you can see the exhaust muffler not at the back but on the driver’s side. This will ensure that this modified City can go through deep water without creating a problem for the exhaust. Then there are larger alloys with dual-purpose off-roading tires. The suspension has also been raised so that the bottom is not scraped.

There are two horizontal roof rails that can double up as a carrier. The owner has installed a removable winch and an additional set of lights on the bull bars. Other than that, there are no other modifications done to the exterior. The headlamps and tail lamps have also been retained from the original City.

The model in the question is the current generation Honda City i-VTEC. This modified City is located in Thailand where the new generation City is now available. The sedan gets a new platform, a new engine and a completely refreshed design language. The new City is slightly longer as well as wider than the previous-generation City.

The new City will be launched in India next month and its unofficial bookings have already commenced. It will look identical to the Thai-spec City but will continue with the existing 1.5 Litre petrol and diesel engines. For the first time, City will get a diesel-automatic combination as well.
