This one shows Volkswagen Polo boasting about its 1.5 Litre diesel engine, before it was discontinued. However, we had the Hyundai Getz which was the most powerful diesel hatchback in 2007. Its 1.5 litre CRDi diesel engine produced 112 BHP. Getz was surely a hot hatch.
We can see Skoda Octavia with the tagline of the fastest D-segment diesel sedan. True, it is currently the fastest but when Chevrolet sold the Cruze, no doubt it was the fastest and most powerful. Cruze with its 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 164 BHP.
This one is a joke both the sides. While XUV300 boasts of offering the highest torque in the sub-compact SUV segment, Nexon and Maruti Vitara Brezza have bigger boot capacity. Also, XUV300 is more fun to drive despite Nexon being the most powerful of the lot.
This one is actually damn good. Definitely Audi A4 is more powerful than the Skoda Octavia 1.8 TSI. A4 produced 187 BHP and 400 Nm, while Octavia produces 178 BHP and 250 Nm. However, auto enthusiasts know the power and driving fun of a TSI engine is better than most of the engines in the world. Although, the A3 seems to be a better option and more fun to drive.
It was a sad day for many enthusiasts where Ford announced that they will discontinue the 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine a.k.a the lovable EcoBoost. It was one of the earliest turbo petrol engines in India and is still wanted by many. Venue Turbo produces 120 PS while EcoSport EcoBoost goes up to 124 PS.
DC Avanti is India’s latest sportscar with similarities to Lamborghinis as well as Tarzan the Wonder car. It is a lot more powerful than car in the meme. However, we all know the Skoda Octavia RS is one of the deserving machines in India till date.
No doubt Volkswagen Polo and Fiat Abarth Punto are great cars to drive, back in the time, the same position was taken up by Maruti Zen. The compact hatch, especially in the Carbon three-door version, is a collector’s model. While the engine produced just 60 BHP but its handling was very impressive.

To be fair, not Jazz but City has the best i-VTEC engine in town. Over 22 years, City i-VTEC has not lost its fan following.
We just talked about the Honda City i-VTEC and here is a worthy competitor for it. The sky blue Ford Fiesta 1.6 S was every auto enthusiast’s wet dream. With a high revving and fun to drive engine and great handling capabilities, it is now a rare car to find.
I think we all will agree with this. The new Safari and Scorpio might be great, but the oldest versions of them are the real treasure. Many automobile collectors will agree to that and some are desperately searching for an old Safari.
Sadly, the Tiago JTP has now been discontinued temporarily. Packed with a 1.2 Litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, this is the most powerful hatchback in India. Its engine produces 115 PS which is 5 PS more than the Polo GT TSI. In some months, we are expecting it to get a BS6 upgrade.
