2020 BMW X6 Launched in India for a price of Rs 95 lakh, Ex-Showroom!

BMW has launched the 2020 X6 in India in two variants – MSport and XLine – both having an identical price tag of Rs 95 lakh, ex-showroom. Its powered by a 340PS 3.0L inline-six engine under the hood.

It took BMW almost an year to bring the third-gen X6 to India after it was debuted internationally in July last year. The 2020 BMW X6 has now been launched in India for a price of Rs 95 lakh, ex-showroom. At just one glance, the new X6 does not seem all that different from the outgoing car but when you look closer, you will see more modern details. BMW has launched the new X6 in two variants in India – MSport and XLine – are both are priced at an identical Rs 95 lakh. The BMW X6 comes to India via the CBU route.

The new X6 still boasts of the same design philosophy and if you have liked it before, you will still love the new design. In essence, the new X6 really looks like a grown up sibling of the X4. The sloping coupe-like roofline is still as seductive and the face is plenty bold with lots of angular creases and cuts. Like all other newer BMW’s, the grille has certainly grown in size but the highlight here is that it even gets the option of illumination now. The headlights are BMW’s Laser and adaptive LED headlights. The SUV-coupe comes with bold and muscular front and rear bumpers and there are four alloy wheel options in 20-inch and 21-inch sizes.

On the inside, the cabin design is pretty identical to what we have seen on the X5 and most other newer BMW cars like even the 3-Series. Stand-out features on the X6 include 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, advanced gesture controls, Wi-Fi connectivity, a panoramic glass sunroof, four-zone climate control, ambient lighting, ambient air interior fragrancing package, temperature controlled cupholders, an optional Harman Kardon Surround Sound System and also wireless charging.

Under the hood, the new BMW X6 gets a sole petrol engine, sporting the xDrive40i engine. Its a 3.0-litre inline-six twin-turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 340PS of power and 450Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with power being sent to all four wheels. BMW claims that the 0-100kph sprint for the X6 comes up in just 5.5 seconds. It has an electronically limited top-speed of 250 kph. Internationally, the X6 is also available with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol (M50i) and an inline-six 3.0-litre twin turbocharged diesel which comes in two states of tune – M50d and xDriver30d.

The 2020 BMW X6 also has a few fancy technical wizardry up its sleeve like a two-axle air suspension, an electronically controlled M Sport rear differential, and four driving modes: ECO PRO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+. Currently, the BMW X6 does not have any directly rival in the Indian market. However, Mercedes is also expected to launch the 2020 GLE Coupe in India later this year and that it when it will have a true rival.
