The new-gen Hyundai Creta always had a huge task to deliver in filling up the shoes of the older Creta. And has rightfully stood up to the expectations. Hyundai India has announced that the new-gen Creta has crossed the 30,000 bookings mark since its launch in March, earlier this year. In fact, in May 2020, the Creta was Hyundai’s best selling model in India with 3212 units being despatched to dealerships. Hyundai has achieved this despite the nation-wide lockdown that was imposed right after the launch of the new Creta. The company had to ensure that dealerships are stocked up for timely delivery of vehicles as online bookings were still open.

The Creta has always been a popular choice when it comes to SUVs under a budget of Rs 15 Lakhs. While the prices of the new-gen Creta go a little above Rs 15 lakh, it is one of the most feature-rich SUVs in the class and very reliable and but the styling of the new-gen Creta is quite polarizing. However, looking at the numbers, seems like most people are finding the styling to be an issue. The new Creta and Seltos are based on the same platform and also use the same set of engines. The 1.5L petrol and diesel engines and the 1.4L turbo-petrol engine are shared by both the cars.
