These are the 20 motorcycles that were discontinued in March due to BS6 norms and will not be available again.
Due to BS6 norms and ongoing pandemic, the auto industry has taken a major hit. Many two wheelers and four wheelers have been discontinued in India due to the emission norms. Talking about two wheelers specifically, 30 of them have been discontinued which include 20 motorcycles and 10 scooters.
Here is the list of those 20 motorcycles which will not come back with a BS6 engine. They have been completely discontinued for good, mainly due to low performance. Due to the pandemic and following lockdown, two-wheelers which were going to get BS6 engines are delayed.
Most of these motorcycles have been discontinued due to poor sales over the year. The primary reason why manufacturers are not updating all of their models with BS6 engines is that the transition is costly and it makes no point to spend all that money on a low selling product. In such a case, Suzuki has not discontinued a single motorcycle or scooter. Its entire lineup is BS6 compliant now.
Honda
- CB Unicorn 160
Honda is discontinuing the CB Unicorn 160 due to very poor sales. CB Unicorn is a popular motorcycle but lost out on the heavy competition. The Unicorn came with a refined engine, more than average styling and is also highly fuel-efficient. To clarify, the CB Hornet 160R and X Blade will soon receive BS6 engines.
Hero Motocorp

Hero has discontinued the Passion XPro and replaced it with the new Passion Pro. It gets a revised BS6 compliant 110cc engine with major cosmetic upgrades. As for Karizma, it was discontinued a couple of months back itself. Over the years, Karizma failed to gain the popularity that it had in the early 2000s.
Yamaha

Looks like Yamaha has a lot of motorcycles discontinued. Yamaha made it clear that it would not step in the commuter motorcycle segment and rather focus on the premium segment. That means it would focus only on motorcycles which are 150cc and above. It has now discontinued the 110cc and 125cc Saluto RX. The Fazer series has also been put aside due to low sales generation. The R15 S, basically a more commuter-focused version of the first R15, was also cut off. Lastly, the lovable Yamaha R3 has been discontinued, only to make a comeback sometime later next year.
Bajaj Auto

Bajaj had discontinued the V15 last year itself, mainly due to the BS6 emission norms. Its 125cc version, V125, was discontinued long back. Now, Bajaj has also left out the Avenger Street 220 from its BS6 lineup and has just updated the Avenger Cruise 220.

Even Royal Enfield has cut down on a lot of motorcycles due to the emission norms. Last year, it announced that the 500cc engine will be discontinued due to high transition costs. That’s why the Bullet, Classic and Thunderbird 500 have been cut off. Actually, RE has discontinued the Thunderbird series itself. It will be soon replaced by Royal Enfield Meteor, a similarly styled cruiser. Another variant or version to go off the lineup is the Bullet Trials.
TVS
- Victor
TVS just has one motorcycle discontinued. TVS Victor was very popular in the early 2010s because of its stylish looks and fuel efficient engine. Over time, TVS introduced many new commuters like Radeon and Sport. This put Victor in the backseat and now off the cart. However, reports suggest that it will be launched in the coming months.
