Reports suggest that Google Maps has approached Amitabh Bachchan to lend his voice for the Indian version of Google Maps and navigation.
Google maps and navigation is one of the most important things while driving. Even if you know the route to your desired location, we still use it for traffic updates. While it may have its own flaws, most of them cannot rely going someplace new without the application. We all have tried asking people for direction which goes in vain.
Right now, if you switch on the voice assist navigation, you will hear the voice of a New York based entertainer, Karen Jacobsen. However, for us Indians, this scenario might soon change. Google has approached Amitabh Bachchan, India’s one of the finest actors, to lend his voice for the Google Maps India.

The veteran actor was in All India Radio and can be recognised with just his voice. Google describes his voice as the perfect baritone for the people of India. As of now, the talks are going on and confirmation from the Bachchan side is yet to come. Once the news is confirmed, you will eventually see the voice on maps.
Once confirmed, Amitabh Bachchan will record everything at home itself and it will be sent to the Google office. There are many instances where Google decided to jazz things up with the maps. Once, it had a reference to Amir Khan for Thugs of Hindustan. Another time, instead of the red navigating car, you could chose a Mario Kart.
Despite all the dependence on it, as said earlier, Google Maps has many flaws to work on. The turn by turn navigation shows lag many times and often people take up the wrong direction because maps displayed it correctly after turning. Also, the maps fails to notice that some of its shorter routes involve the car going through very small lanes where sometimes, the car can’t even go.
