Here’s a walkaround video that will show you what all features and highlights come on the base variant of the new Honda City.
The new Honda City has created an uproar in the market due to its features and VFM quality. Even its base variant comes loaded with many premium features that are not found on the top-spec trims of its rivals. Here is a walkaround video which shows the base-spec V variant and details its features.
As you can see, it still continues with alloy wheels even for the base variant, however, not diamond cut. Further, you get halogen projector headlamps, LED turn indicators, LED tail lamps and projector headlamps. These are all the things that come on the outside, missing out on just a couple of things compared to the top-end variant.

Inside the cabin, you get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Internet Car Technology with Alexa Assist, Steering Mounted Audio and Voice Controls, automatic climate control, cruise control, paddle shifters, Engine Push Button Start, Remote Engine Start (CVT), electrically operated ORVMs and an analogue instrument cluster.
It misses out on Lane Watch Camera, semi digital instrument cluster and electric sunroof mainly. On the safety front, there’s dual airbags instead of six airbags on the top-spec. Rest of the features including traction control, rear parking camera and rear parking sensors are standard among all variants.
Another great thing is that Honda offers CVT for all the three variants of the new City. It also gets a new 1.5 Litre i-VTEC engine with DOHC, producing 122 PS now. The diesel engine remains the same as earlier, producing 100 PS and 200 Nm. The petrol engine comes paired with a 6-speed MT and a CVT and the diesel engine only gets a manual stick.

Prices of the petrol manual variant start at Rs 10.89 Lakhs up to Rs 13.14 Lakhs. The CVT variants are more than a Lakh costlier, priced from Rs 12.19 Lakhs up to Rs 14.45 Lakhs. The diesel variants start at Rs 12.39 Lakhs up to Rs 13.65 Lakhs (all prices ex-showroom).
