These rounds of price hikes from TVS never seem to come an end, do they? Its been seven months since TVS launched the BS6 Apache RR 310 in the country and here comes its first price hike. The BS6 Apache RR 310 was launched for a price of Rs 2.4 lakh and now, the prices have gone up by Rs 5,000, taking the price up to Rs 2.45 lakh. This hike in price is however not all in vain and there’s a nifty little update on the motorcycle along with the additional bucks you pay for it.

When TVS launched the BS6 Apache RR 310, it saw a bump in price by Rs 12,000 over the BS4-spec motorcycle. Although quite steep, TVS did justify the premium by considerably improving the motorcycle and also threw in a lot more features. That made the BS6 Apache RR 310 and a much better all-rounder and truly deserving of the flagship tag of TVS. It was much more refined, the vibrations were eliminated, the performance was smoother and new digital instrument cluster with all sorts of tech wizardry made it a lot more appealing.

In fact, it went to be the motorcycle it should have been right from the start. A major update that the Apache saw with its BS6 update were also its new pair of shoes. The Apache RR 310 comes wearing Michelin Road 5 tyres which are much grippier than the previous Michelin Pilot Streets and can be compared to the Metzeler Roadtec M5s that you get on the KTM 390s. And that brings us to its primary competition – the KTM RC 390. With this price hike, the Apache RR 310 is now Rs 8,000 cheaper than the RC 390, just as it was when both the bikes got their BS6 update in January around the same time.

Other bits on the motorcycle remain absolutely unchanged. It continues to be powered by a BS6 compliant 312.2cc engine that produces 34hp at 9,700rpm and 27.3Nm at 7,700rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and even gets a slipper clutch. TVS claims that the Apache RR 310 can sprint from 0-100 kph in 7.17 seconds and has a top-speed of 163 kmph. The BS6 Apache RR 310 also gets ride-by-wire tech which allowed TVS to throw in multiple riding modes as well – Rain, Urban, Sport, and Track. The modes essentially alters the power output, throttle response and ABS setting from Rain to Track.

The BS6 TVS Apache RR 310 is a really good motorcycle, more so for the price it comes for. Its one of the more premium motorcycles in its segment in terms of hardware and also is loaded with tech via its 5-inch TFT instrument console which even features smartphone connectivity. Does it still retain its value proposition after this price hike? Well, the buying decision is not one that will cause a lot of self doubt and it is still a great value for money offering. It is one of the better sportsbikes we have in the country currently in this segment.
