Honda has commenced the deliveries of the new City across the country. It is priced from Rs 10.89 Lakhs up to Rs 14.65 Lakhs.

After waiting for nearly four months, Honda finally launched the new generation City on 15th July. Its entry in the Indian market was announced in March itself but due to the ongoing pandemic, it was delayed. Now, we can confirm that Honda has started the deliveries of the new generation City across the country. The bookings commenced months ago and the units started reaching dealerships three weeks ago.

Most of the metro cities are now delivering the new Honda City. Honda is expected to reveal its booking numbers soon, which will give a broader idea about its sales and performance. As you can see, the difference between both the new and the old City is very less. The maximum difference can be seen VX trims which are around Rs 43,000. The new City does not get the base SV variant and directly starts at the V variant. An advantage to that is that the V trim of new City gets most of the premium features like alloy wheels, touchscreen infotainment system, internet car technology and more.

The petrol engine has been revamped and it now gets a DOHC. The 1.5 Litre i-VTEC engine produces 122 PS more, which is a small but significant 5 PS boost. The diesel engine is the same 1.5 Litre i-DTEC unit, which is good for 100 PS and 200 Nm of peak torque. Like earlier, the petrol engine comes with the option of either a 6-speed MT or a CVT. The diesel engine comes with a manual stick as standard.

Features onboard include electric sunroof, Alexa Assist, semi-digital instrument cluster with sportscar-derived G-meter, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, internet car technology with remote operation through mobile, six airbags, traction control and much more. The new City will be sold alongside the old City, however, if you want a diesel engine, you will have to go with the new one. With the generation upgrade, the new City fits as a perfect competitor to Hyundai Verna facelift, Maruti Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid and Toyota Yaris.
