Although quite subtle, the BS6 Honda WR-V Facelift features quite a few cosmetic updates, a reshuffle of variants and features, and BS6 complaint engines as well. The prices too have obviously gone up.
Honda launched the BS6 WR-V with a subtle facelift yesterday for a starting price of Rs 8.50 lakh. Although there has been a facelift, you might not be able to tell it in your very first glance. That’s exactly why we have highlighted all the differences between the new BS6 WR-V facelift and BS4-spec WRV here in this article. They are certain cosmetic changes, BS6-compliant engines and reshuffling of variants and features as well.
Cosmetic Changes
Apart from the BS6 compliance, it’s the cosmetic changes on the outside that has been the most significant change on the new WR-V. The BS6 WR-V gets a new front grille, which although is the same size, gets new design elements. The fog lamp housing has also been slightly revised and the grille is now flanked by new LED projector lamps. The WR-V also gets LED DRLs for the first time. The diesel variants get new 16-inch alloy wheels and the rear tail lamps have also been tweaked with new LED elements.
Variant Shuffle
Honda has also slightly shuffled the variant lineup of the WR-V with its BS6 update. The petrol variants of the BS4 WR-V were available in two variants – S and VX. Meanwhile, the diesel variant was available in three variants – S, V, and VX. With the BS6 update, Honda has unified the trims on both the petrol and diesel variant and offer the WR-V in two trims – SV and VX. That means the base petrol S variant and the diesel S and V variants have been axed in favor of the VX trim with both engines.
Powertrain
Honda has carried over the same engines from the pre-facelift WR-V but the petrol and diesel engines are now abviously BS6 complaint. The 1.2L petrol engine on the WR-V continues to make 90PS and 110Nm of torque while the 1.5L diesel engine makes 100PS and 200Nm of torque. The petrol engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while the diesel engine gets a 6-speed manual gearbox. In terms of fuel efficiency, the petrol variant returns 16.5kmpl while the diesel model has a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 23.7kmpl. There’s no automatic gearbox option.

Interiors and Features
Although the cabin design and layout of the new WR_V remains the same as the pre-facelift version, Honda is offering a new upholstery on the WR-V. Honda has also added more features to the base variants of the WR-V to make it more appealing and now also gets the touchscreen infotainment system which it did not get earlier. Other notable features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, cruise control, a sunroof, a multi-info display, steering-mounted audio controls and keyless entry with push button start. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors with a camera.

Pricing
With the BS6 update and facelift, prices for the Honda WR-V has certainly gone up. The base petrol price of the WR-V was previously Rs 8.15 lakh, which has now gone up by Rs 35,000 at Rs 8.50 lakh. Meanwhile, the base price of the diesel WR-V has gone up by Rs 55,000. Top-end models of the petrol and diesel variants see a hike of Rs 45,000 and Rs 65,000 respectively.
