Mahindra Opens Bookings for BS6 Mojo 300 ABS in India for Rs 5,000

Mahindra has started accepting pre-bookings for the BS6 Mojo 300 ABS for a token amount of Rs 5,000 but you will have to physically go to a showroom to book the bike and there’s no online booking option available.

Mahindra has been teasing the BS6 Mojo 300 ABS for some time and now, the company has opened pre-bookings for the BS6 compliant 2020 Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS in India. The bookings amount for the BS6 complaint Mojo has been pegged at Rs 5,000 and you will have to visit your nearest Mahindra showroom to pre-book the motorcycle. Unfortunately, Mahindra is not taking online bookings for the motorcycle and given the coronavirus scare, and lockdowns still effective in several places, not all dealerships are open at the moment.

You might thus have to wait for showrooms near you to open up before you can physically go and pre-book the bike. We expect the new BS6 compliant Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS to be priced at around Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom) and its primary rival will be the Bajaj Dominar 250. The motorcycle will continue to be powered by the same 295cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected and liquid-cooled motor, albeit in BS6 form. Although the official numbers haven’t been revealed as of yet, we expect it to remain identical to the BS4-spec bike.

The Mojo 300 also gets new color schemes including this Granite Black shade with red contrasting parts.

In BS4-spec, the Mojo 300 ABS produced 26 bhp at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 28 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The engine came mated to a 6-speed gearbox. From the teaser images that Mahindra has been releasing of the BS6 Mojo 300 ABS, we know that there will be new color options available with the motorcycle as well. That includes both single-tone and dual-tone color options of Garnet Black, Ruby Red (dual tone), Black Pearl, and Red Agate (dual tone). The former two get red pin stripes on the wheels while the latter two come with all-black wheels.

The Garnet Balck color option on the BS6 Mojo 300 ABS also get the exposed frame and swingarm painted in red which adds a little more contrast to the look. Other design and styling bits on the Mojo 300 ABS remain unchanged including its signature headlamp cowl with dual-pod cluster. The fuel tank is quite chiselled and there’s ‘300 ABS’ lettering on the side panel. The Mojo continues with its single piece seating layout. Its not the most good looking motorcycles around but the sizable pipe looks quite good indeed.

Other mechanical bits on the Mojo 300 ABS remain unchanged as well. The handle bars however come painted in silver instead of the all-black finish as earlier. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front which Mahindra says is lighter than before and the rear gets monoshock absorbers. Braking duties are handled by 320 mm disc at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear, equipped with dual-channel ABS. The launch of the BS6 Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS should just be around the corner, perhaps in a couple of week’s time.
