We have spied the new 2020 Hyundai i20 testing on the roads of Delhi ahead of its expected launch in the Festive Season this year.
Hyundai‘s fourth-biggest launch of this year will be the new generation i20. The new Hyundai i20 has already been unveiled for the global market and we will be getting it around the festive season. It will sport a plethora of upgrades ranging from new dimensions, refreshed design, new engines and tons of feature upgrades.
Hyundai has commenced testing the new i20 on the roads of Delhi. We recently spotted one testing on the roads of Delhi NCR. While it was completely camouflaged, we got some specific details to catch our eyes. The headlamps are completely new and so is the alloy wheel design. This looks similar to the one that we have for Sportz i20 variant.

The stance of the new Hyundai i20 feels more aggressive and sportier. The tyres also seem bigger by an inch. While the silhouette of the new hatch will remain quite similar to the outgoing one, some design bits including sharper and bolder lines will be new. Inside the cabin, it will get a complete makeover with new dashboard, steering wheel and even the seat upholstery.
Currently, the Hyundai i20 only comes with a petrol engine as its 1.4 Litre diesel unit was discontinued. Hyundai decided to bring the new diesel engine directly on the upcoming model. It will continue with the 1.2 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine. New additions will include a 1.0 Litre turbo petrol and a 1.5 Litre turbo diesel engine.
The three-cylinder turbo unit will come from the Nios and Aura Turbo, producing 100 PS and 172 Nm of peak torque. There are reports of it getting a manual gearbox along with the option of a DCT. The 1.5 Litre diesel unit offers 100 PS and 240 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed MT. If Hyundai offers the diesel-auto combination, it would be the first in its segment.
