Nissan Magnite To Get 360-Degree Camera, Cruise Control Under 6 Lakh

Nissan has revealed the Magnite concept for India and has also confirmed a couple of highlights that the subcompact SUV will get.

Nissan has finally taken the wraps off the Magnite concept, its upcoming sub compact SUV. Through a digital video conference, Nissan unveiled it recently also confirming that it will be a global model. The India launch is slated to happen in the early 2021, which is still more than six months away.

While it may draw its front styling from Datsun, it actually tries hard to be a mini Kicks. The grille is identical to what is seen on the Redi-GO facelift, however, drawing a complete Crossover look. Its styling is one of the premium highlights of the Magnite. Nissan has also revealed that it will get many premium features.

The list will include 360-degree camera, cruise control, internet car technology, cruise control and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. These features are usually found in premium cars priced well above 10-15 Lakhs. However, Magnite will be the first in its segment to offer a 360-degree camera.

Other than that, it will also get steering mounted audio controls, automatic AC control and rear AC Vents. Safety kit onboard might include dual airbags, ABS with EBD and other necessary bits. In terms of build quality, we are expecting Nissan to maintain the same quality that we see with the Kicks.

Engine options will include 1.0 Litre three-cylinder and 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engines. The former will be taken from the Triber, producing 73 PS and 96 Nm of peak torque. The turbo motor is expected to produce around 100 PS of power. Both of them will come with a 5-speed MT as standard. The regular petrol engine will get an AMT, whereas the turbo motor will get a CVT.

Along with all these details, Nissan has confirmed that the Magnite will be priced under Rs 6 Lakhs (ex-showroom) for the top-spec trim. We are expecting it to come in just three variants, starting off at somewhere between Rs 4.5 to 5 Lakhs. In terms of competition, things seem great for Magnite as it will be the most affordable and yet premium sub compact SUV.
