Hyundai has launched the new BS6 compliant Tucson facelift that gets a couple of cosmetic upgrades, new features and compliant engines.
Hyundai’s third launch for the year is the Tucson facelift which was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. Minor cosmetic upgrades and new features are a part of upgrade for the SUV. The prices now start at Rs 22.30 Lakhs going way up to Rs 27.03 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The prices have been hiked by nearly Rs 4.3 Lakhs but with many new premium highlights.
Top 5 New Highlights Of The Hyundai Tucson Facelift
1. Minor But Significant Cosmetic Upgrades
The new Tucson gets a couple of cosmetic upgrades on the front including refreshed and bigger cascading grille, new LED headlamps, new DRLs and a completely new front bumper. Even the rear bumper and tail lamps have undergone some revision. The side profile remains the same as earlier however with changes to the alloy wheel design.
2. New Features Mainly Seen Inside The Cabin
The cabin gets a black colour theme with bigger AC vents and a free-standing 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment unit is also completely new equipped with Blue Link internet car technology. So, you get all the remote operations, voice assist and app connection done on the Tucson as well. Other than that, it also gets panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone charger and electric adjustment for driver seat.
3. Existing Engine Options Without Any Changes
BS6 Hyundai Tucson continues with the same 2.0 Litre NA petrol and 2.0 Litre turbo diesel engine like earlier. The petrol engine is good for 155 BHP and 192 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine produces 185 BHP and 400 Nm of peak torque. Even the power figures of both have not been increased or decreased.
4. New Gearbox For Diesel Engine But Not For Petrol
The petrol engine comes paired with a 6-speed torque converter AT like earlier, however, the diesel engine gets something new. It gets a new 9-speed torque converter AT that is more sophisticated and premium. There’s no manual gearbox on offer for both the engine.
5. All Wheel Drive Option Available
Luckily, we still have the All Wheel Drive option left on the Hyundai Tucson. Many cars have lost their different drivetrain options due to the BS6 norms. Tucson comes with AWD but is only reserved for diesel top-end variant. It comes in two variants GL (O) and GLS, the latter getting AWD.
