Toyota To Launch A Limited Edition Fortuner With 360-Degree Camera

Toyota is going to launch a limited edition Fortuner soon which will get some cosmetic upgrades and a couple of new features.

Toyota Fortuner received a BS6 upgrade now but talking about a facelift, the last big upgrade came in 2016. It remains one of the most outdated SUVs in India now but is also long-lasting and highly reliable. Actually, even other Toyota models are becoming slightly outdated and have already completed more than 3-4 years since the last big upgrade.

Toyota is soon going to launch a limited edition Fortuner in India. Sometime back, Toyota launched the Innova Crysta Leadership Edition and something similar will come with the Fortuner as well. Cosmetic changes on the exterior and interior will be seen along with new features onboard.

Toyota Fortuner Special Edition will get a couple of new features which will include a 360-degree camera and auto folding ORVMs. In comparison to the rivals, Fortuner gets lesser features and technology, but these two features are certainly important to add.

We can expect redesigned front and rear bumpers, a special colour option, tweaks to the alloy wheels and probably, a new dashboard theme. All these will demand some premium over its current price range of Rs 28.18 to Rs 33.95 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

Under the hood, the BS6 Fortuner continues with its same 2.7 litre four-cylinder petrol and 2.8 Litre turbo diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 166hp and 245Nm of torque and the diesel engine produces 177hp and 420Nm of torque. The petrol engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual and diesel with a 6-speed MT. Additionally, both of them get a 6-speed AT as an option. Only the diesel trims get the 4X4 drivetrain.

Features onboard the Fortuner include LED projector headlamps, 4WD shift on go, electric adjustment for driver seat, push button start, automatic headlamps, cruise control and much more. Safety features include seven airbags, hill-assist control, vehicle stability control, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with a camera and more.

Probably this year or early 2021, Toyota will also bring in the Fortuner facelift to India. It has now been spied testing in a South-East Asian country with a complete makeover. The new design language comes in line with the recently launched Toyota Raize sub compact SUV.
