Honda is offering heavy discounts and offers on the outgoing version of City, ahead of the launch of the new and upgraded version of it.
Honda is going to launch the new fifth-generation City on 15th July. The outgoing version is most likely to co-exist with it and will be sold alongside. If you are fine with going with the current City and want to save some money, now’s the time to buy it. Honda is offering about Rs 1.7 Lakhs discount on current version of the sedan.
However, the offers are different for each variant of the City. The highest offer is applicable on the top-spec ZX CVT variant. Here is the variant wise discounts and offers applicable:

On the ZX CVT variant, you can get a discount of up to Rs 1.7 Lakhs, the highest among all. For the second in line VX CVT variant, you can still get Rs 1.3 Lakhs. The top-end ZX manual is also available with a huge discount of Rs 1.4 Lakhs. The lowest offer you can get is on the base SV and V variants, with just Rs 31,000 off.
The prices of current Honda City starts at Rs 9.91 Lakhs going all the way up to Rs 14.67 Lakhs. If you want to buy the top-end variant and meet all the criteria required, you can actually get it for Rs 13 Lakhs. The ZX MT variant can be taken for just Rs 11 Lakhs (all prices ex-showroom).
The current City only gets a petrol engine and not a diesel unit. The 1.5 Litre i-VTEC engine on the current version produces 119 PS and 145 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed MT and CVT. The new City gets a new 1.5 Litre engine that produces 3 PS more but is slightly less fuel efficient. Also, it is offered with a 1.5 Litre diesel engine that is good for 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque.

The prices of new City are expected to start off from Rs 10.5 Lakhs going easily up to Rs 15 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The sedan competes with the likes of new Hyundai Verna facelift, Maruti Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid and Toyota Yaris.
