Yamaha has silently increased the price of the BS6 R15 V3.0 by Rs 2,100, now taking the price up to Rs 1.50 lakh for Dark Knight color option. The reason for the price hike seems to be due to rising inputs costs because of challenges thrown up Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown.

Yamaha Motor India has silently increased the price of its very popular BS6 YZF R15 V3.0 by Rs 2,100. The BS6 complaint version of this 155cc fully-faired motorcycle was launched back in December 2019 for a starting price of Rs 1.45 lakh, going up to Rs 1.47 lakh. With this price hike however, the BS6 Yamaha R15 V3.0 is now priced from Rs 1.47 lakh, going up to Rs 1.50 lakh, all prices ex-showroom Delhi.

Racing Blue ₹ 1,46,900 ₹ 1,49,000 ₹ 2,100
Dark Knight ₹ 1,47,900 ₹ 1,50,000 ₹ 2,100

This is the updated price list of the BS6 R15 V3.0. Like before, the price of the motorcycle depends on the color you chose and there are three color options to choose from – Thunder Grey, Racing Blue and Dark Knight. The Thunder Grey color on the R15 was introduced with the BS6 update. This is in fact the second price hike the R15 has seen post the lockdown, with the company previously hiking the price marginally in May 2020.

The Yamaha R15 was one of the first BS6 motorcycles when it was launched in the country back in December 2019. Although Yamaha hasn’t specified any particular reason for the increase in prices, we expect it is due to the rising inputs costs due to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown. There are also no other updates on the motorcycle and it remains completely unchanged.

It is also one of the best looking fully-faired motorcycles in the market right now, which is one of the key reasons for its great success. The long and slender profile of the motorcycle with sharp lines and a sculpted tank really make it look faster than it actually is.
