Fuel prices to fall to lowest in three years

The mileage figures of the upcoming Kia Sonet have been revealed and it is now among the most fuel-efficient subcompact SUVs.

Kia Sonet is all set to be launched this month and within just days of its booking being commenced, it has crossed records! In just a day, Sonet garnered more than 6,500 bookings which is even higher than what Kia Seltos received. The compact SUV is highly anticipated as it will overtake Hyundai Venue to become the most feature rich car of the compact SUV segment.

Ahead of the launch, the mileage and acceleration figures of Kia Sonet have been leaked. The fuel efficiency figures are quite impressive and probably, among the best in class numbers. Take a look at the mileage of all the engine and gearbox combinations:

If noticed, Kia Sonet Diesel Manual is the most fuel efficient compact SUV in India. Earlier, the spot was taken by Honda WRV with an ARAI-claimed mileage of 23.7 kmpl. Now, Sonet overtakes the crossover offering 24.1 kmpl. In comparison, the Hyundai Venue offers 23.5 kmpl which is not that low. Even the mileage of Sonet Diesel-AT is rated at 19 kmpl, which should easily give the owner a real world mileage of 15 kmpl.

The mileage figures of the turbo petrol variants is identical to that of Venue. The 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbocharged motor will be able to produce 120 PS and 172 Nm, paired with a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT. The diesel engine comes from Seltos and Creta, their 1.5 Litre turbocharged unit. For the manual variants, the engine is detuned to produce 100 PS and 240 Nm of peak torque. However, the automatic variants will offer 115 PS and 250 Nm, the original figures of Seltos and Creta.

The feature rich cabin of Sonet offers an electric sunroof, 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system, UVO Connect Internet Car Technology, cruise control, automatic AC, smart air purifier, digital instrument cluster and a lot more. Safety bits include six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, traction control and automatic Day/Night IRVM.
