Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza registers the highest sales number for the month of July in the entire segment of sub compact SUVs.
There are a lot of subcompact SUVs right now and by the end of this year, three more are expected to come. For the past many months, the battle for the best selling compact SUV is between Hyundai Venue and Maruti Vitara Brezza. Now, for the second consecutive month, the latter has retained its position as the best selling compact SUV.
For the month of July, Maruti sold 7,807 units of the Vitara Brezza. Prior to lockdown and the BS6 transformation, the sales number of Brezza were always around 10,000 units. However, if compared with July 2019, the sales figures are up by 47%. After seeing a steep decline in sales, gradually, things are getting better for Maruti Suzuki.

The second position is taken up by none other than the Hyundai Venue, clocking 6734 units for the month of July. Here, the Y-o-Y sales have dropped by 30%, down from 9585 units in 2019. The third position is taken up by Tata Nexon, registering 4329 units for the month. It has witnessed a 29% growth in Y-o-Y sales.
Other than Venue and Nexon, all the other cars have seen a significant drop in the sales. This segment saw the least sales recorded of Honda WRV which has just gotten a BS6 upgrade. If we talk about the popularity, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300 rank one based on the local searches and social media popularity.
Maruti Vitara Brezza got a BS6 upgrade in the month of February. That gave it a BS6 compliant engine and a minor facelift including refreshed front grille, new alloys and new design for the headlamps. The new SmartPlay studio touchscreen infotainment is the only feature upgrade that it gets.

Brezza, with its 1.5 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine, produces 104 PS and 138 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed MT and a 4-speed AT. The prices of the compact SUV start at Rs 7.34 Lakhs up to Rs 11.40 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
