Tata Altroz is the latest hatchback in the premium car segment priced from Rs 5.44 Lakhs up to Rs 9.49 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
Tata Altroz is the safest car of India achieving 5-star safety rating for adult occupants and 4-star safety rating for child occupants. It is the fourth Tata car to receive high quality safety rating and we can clearly see that from the major mishaps they are involved in. Here’s another example of the strong build quality of Altroz, the latest premium hatchback to join the bandwagon.
This Tata Altroz was hit by a speeding truck from the back at a speed of around 70 km/hr. The car was moving slow at a speed of around 20 when suddenly, this truck rear ended it. While there are no photos of the truck or the damage that it received, here’s the only photo of the damaged Altroz. As you can see, the damage is not that high compared to the impact we had expected.

The bonnet has received a huge dent, which might cost a bit too much to the owner. Even the rear windscreen has cracked, but the tail lights seem to be unaffected by the accident. While we cannot see the bumper, we are sure that it might have been damaged as well. There are a lot of accidents where the car has crumpled up or the impact has reached the rear seats after a truck rear ends.
However, here, the impact was limited only to the boot and nothing else. Both the passengers seated in the front seat were safe and escaped without any injuries. Fortunately, there was no one seated at the back. By the interiors, we can assume that it is the base XE trim which does not get any factory fitted music system or touchscreen infotainment system. The prices of Altroz start at Rs 5.44 Lakhs going all the way up to Rs 9.49 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
Altroz gets a 1.2 Litre petrol engine that is good for 86 PS and 113 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed MT. The diesel engine is a 1.5 Litre turbocharged unit borrowed from Nexon, but produces 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque. There’s no automatic gearbox on offer for the diesel engine as well. Reports suggest that Tata is testing a DCT-paired Altroz, which might be launched this year.
