Mahindra Thar has taken the SUV and off-roading enthusiasts by a hit as it is currently, one of the most talked about cars in India. The unveil has happened and the launch is scheduled to happen on 2nd October. So, you have something more than a month to think and gather your finances. The new Thar sees an overall improvement and not just one thing. There’s the new shape, new styling, new features and more technology. So, here are the top 10 features that you will find onboard the new generation Thar:
Top 10 Features Of New 2020 Mahindra Thar
1. Real Time Adventure Statistics
On the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, you can now see Real Time Adventure statistics. The option shows that you can see the departure and approach angles, tyre direction, if the tyre is in the air or not, 4WD mode and lot of other information.
2. Convertible, Hard Top And Soft Top Options
With Thar, you can now choose either going for a convertible or having hard top or soft top. If you want the soft top, you will get it as standard on the AX variants. However, if you want to the convertible or hard top, you will have to go with LX variant.
3. Electronic Brake Differential Locking
Thar gets electronic brake differential locking as a fitment on the LX variants. With this, if one of your wheel is in the air and crosses 60 RPM, then the system will automatically apply the brakes.
4. Diesel And Petrol With Automatic Gearbox
Now, there’s an interesting highlight. Now, with the Thar, you can go for diesel and petrol engines. Both get a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed torque converter AT gearbox. So, you have two engine options and four combinations to go with.
5. Three-Door Configuration Only
While a three-door configuration may not appeal to everyone and especially who will want to sit at the back, but it does bring out a unique look on the Thar. Not only does it look good, but there’s a small advantage of it helping in off-roading.
6. Option For A 6-seater
While the LX variant will come as a 4-seater, the AX variant gets 6 seats as standard. The first row will get two front facing seats and at the back, you will get 2 two-seater side facing benches. The LX variant gets front facing seats at the back as well.
7. High On Safety Features
The last and important highlight is the safety list. Other than being safety compliant now, it offers Roll Over Mitigation with a built-in roll cage, ESP, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, Hill Hold and Hill Descent Control.
