Deliveries of the new Kia Sonet have commenced successfully across the country, with the first one made in Hyderabad on the next day of launch.

Finally, one of the most anticipated cars of the year has been launched. The deliveries of the sub compact SUV have started already in full swing right from the next day of launch.

The waiting period as of now, is the highest for the base spec HTE Petrol-Manual variant. The top-end GTX Plus and HTX Plus trims have the least waiting period of just a month. But that is also dependable on the colour that you have chosen. As told earlier, these two trims are the most in demand.

The top-end GTX+ Turbo DCT and Diesel-AT are yet to be launched. Their prices will be revealed probably in the first week of October. The bookings for them are underway although. With this pricing, Sonet is the most affordable compact SUV and the costliest one also. The base and mid-spec trims undercut the prices of its competitors but the top-end is costlier than lot.

You have three engine options to choose from along with five gearbox options. The 83PS producing 1.2 Litre petrol engine goes with a 5-speed MT as standard. Its 1.5 Litre diesel engine comes in two state of tuning. The 6-speed manual variant produces 100 PS and 240 Nm while the 6-speed AT variants produce 115 PS and 250 Nm.

The GT Line trim comes in a single fully loaded GTX+ trim which is available with a turbo-iMT and diesel-MT for now. It also gets a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine that is good for 120 PS and 172 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT. There’s no manual gearbox on offer.
