Reports suggest that Kia Sonet GTX+ Diesel AT and Turbo DCT variants could demand Rs 60,000 more than the current top-end variants.
The deliveries of Kia Sonet have commenced successfully across the country. The waiting period for all the variants have also been revealed, so as to keep the buyers at peace. Two variants are yet to be launched including the top-end GTX+ Diesel-AT and Turbo-DCT variants. The bookings for them are ongoing but their prices are not out.
Reports suggest that both these variants could be priced around Rs 60,000 more than the GTX+ Diesel-MT and Turbo-iMT variants. As of now, the prices end at Rs 12 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). Even these prices are introductory, which will be increased with time. The upcoming variants will be priced under Rs 13 Lakhs itself.

If we take the current pricing in consideration, the Kia Sonet GTX+ Diesel AT and Turbo DCT variants could be priced around Rs 12.5 Lakhs. That will make it among the costliest SUVs of the segment, but still not the costliest one. The prices now start at Rs 6.71 Lakhs, which makes it the most affordable choice of its competition.
Sonet GT Line trim will come in a single GTX+ variant with four options as mentioned above. The main difference between GT Line trims and Tech Line trims is some cosmetic upgrades and couple of feature differences. For instance, the GTX+ trims boast of drive modes, traction control modes, wireless charger and sporty aluminium pedals.
With the launch of Diesel-AT Sonet, it is now the only sub-compact SUV to offer a torque converter gearbox with a diesel engine. Mahindra XUV300 and Tata Nexon offer the diesel-AMT combination, which is not as enjoyable as diesel-AT configuration. Sonet also boasts of the clutchless manual (iMT) gearbox as well.
