The price difference between each variant is not that high. Mainly, the top-end LX Diesel-AT trim will cost just around Rs 15.5 to Rs 16 Lakhs on-road makes it a very VFM product. However, these are just the introductory prices and later, they will increase. The deliveries will mostly commence a week after the launch.

The base Petrol-Manual AX variant will come with 4X4 with a low range transfer case, steel wheels, 6-seater configuration and a 6-speed manual stick. It will just get all the neccessary things for off-roading, since the AX trims are exclusively for that purpose. If you want all the bells and whistles, you have to choose the LX trims.

Powering the new generation Mahindra Thar are 2.0 Litre petrol and 2.2 Litre diesel engines. The petrol engine is good for 150 BHP and 320 Nm, whereas the diesel engine produces 130 BHP and 320 Nm of torque. Both of them come with a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed torque converter automatic as options.
