Mahindra TUV300 Plus Facelift Design Leaked by New Patent Images!

A leaked patent image of the Mahindra TUV300 Plus facelift has surfaced on the internet and it gives us the best look yet at the facelifted SUV. The previous squarish look has been swapped for a much more angular and sharper look now.

Mahindra has been working on a mid-life facelift for the TUV300 Plus for quite some time now and we have also seen spy images of prototypes spotted testing in camouflage quite a few times as well. Now, a leaked patent image of the Mahindra TUV300 Plus has surfaced on the internet and it gives us the best look yet at the facelifted SUV. It must however be kept in mind that this is only a leaked patent image and not an official image from Mahindra, so the final product could differ.

The TUV300 Plus boasts of a completely new face with plenty of design tweaks. The previous squarish look has been swapped for a much more angular and sharper look now. There’s a new Alturas G4-like front grille, newly designed sleeker headlamps, a redesigned front bumper with larger air dams and slimmer fog lamps too. Although the SUV looks quite similar in profile to the outgoing car, expect the rear of the SUV to also come with a redesigned bumper and tail lamps.

While we do not get a look at the interiors of the TUV300 Plus facelift just yet, we expect the design to be largely similar to the outgoing car. There could however be some updates to the upholstery or a new color scheme. It will also carry forward most of its equipment from its predecessor, some of which includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, in-built GPS navigation, and steering-mounted controls. Safety features as standard on the TUV300 Plus includes dual airbags, ABS+EBD, rear parking sensors with camera as well as ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Under the hood, the TUV300 Plus facelift is expected to carry forward its  2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine from its predecessor, of course in BS6 guise. In BS4-spec, this engine was tuned to produce 120PS of power and 280Nm of torque. We do not expect any changes to the numbers, so performance should remain unchanged as well. Like before, the engine will most likely continue to come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Mahindra is expected to launch the TUV300 Plus Facelift sometime towards the end of this year. The BS4-spec TUV300 Plus retailed from Rs 9.92 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), and the facelifted model will surely cost more. Being the only body-on-frame SUV in this segment and also the only 7-9 seater SUV available at this price point, it does not have any direct rival. Mahindra is also expected to debut the standard TUV300 facelift at around the same time as well.
