Tata Nano was launched as the 1 Lakh car, which it was actually not. However, it was the most affordable car in India with its base variant available under Rs 2 Lakhs (on-road). Till a couple of months back, you could still get one made on a special order basis. It was discontinued sometime back due to to poor sales.
Here is a video where you can see the Mahindra Thar going through a heavy slush. It is struggling and slipping hard, finding difficult to keep traction. Also, the slush seems to be at least a feet deep because it can come up to the alloy wheel hubs. What comes next is the shocker and most fun thing to look at.

The driver of the Tata Nano arrives in style and dangerously, swinging out from the door. It goes through the same slush that Thar went from. Even for the Nano, it was not so difficult and swiftly drove away. It is a bit shocking to believe what just happened here but we have a proper answer for you.
First of all, Nano came with Rear-Wheel-Drive which made it easy for the car in this off-roading. Also, the weight of Nano is so less that it can move around anywhere easily. Many users have suggested that while travelling alone, they have liked the pickup of the car and can easily move around the mountain roads.
There’s also the high ground clearance that helps Nano being adaptable to the Indian roads. Under the boot (Pun Intended), it gets a 624cc petrol engine that produces 37 BHP and 51 Nm of peak torque. It was also available with a factory-fitted CNG kit which gave out a superb fuel efficiency of 36 km/kg.

Tata’s cheapest car that you can buy right now is the Tiago which also is very popular right now. Nano was priced from Rs 2.36 Lakhs up to Rs 3.34 Lakhs (ex-showroom), including the AMT variants as well. It went against the likes of Datsun Redi-Go which is another tallboy entry-level hatchback.
