Royal Enfield has been spotted testing an entire fleet of new motorcycles which included a new Classic 350 underpinned by the new J-Platform and a new 350cc engine from the Meteor 350 replacing the older 350cc UCE engine.
Royal Enfield has been on an absolute roll and has been working on upgrading their entire lineup of motorcycles for quite some time. Recently, an entire fleet of Royal Enfield motorcycles were spotted testing in Chennai where the pack included the 650 twins and even the upcoming all-new Meteor and Roadster. What was also a part of this pack was an all-new upcoming Royal Enfield Classic 350. Yes, there’s a brand new Classic coming up.
We have seen test mules of the Classic 350 before but the one spotted recently had a blacked-out motor and exhaust. This hints at the fact that this could be a new color variant of the upcoming motorcycle. The new Royal Enfield Classic 3650 is based on the company’s new J-platform. This brings and all-new double-cradle frame and an all-new 350cc engine to the Classic range. In fact, this new engine could replace the existing BS6-compliant UCE 350cc engine in the current Classic.
With these updates, the Classic 350 could stand as a much improved motorcycle, just like we are expecting with the Meteor 350. Royal Enfield however keep the current 350cc UCE engine alive and kicking in its Bullet 350 range. The other motorcycle spotted testing was the upcoming Meteor 350. This too is based on the new J-platform and will get the same new 350cc engine as the Classic. The Meteor 350 will be a replacement for the Thunderbird 350 and we have already reported to you that it will be available in three variants – Fireball, Stellar and Supernova.

There was yet another motorcycle that was spotted very briefly in this clip here and that’s the all-new Roadster. We have seen spy images of the Roadster before and it is touted as a replacement for the now discontinued Thunderbird 350X. This Roadster in fact is styled much like a Triumph Bonneville Street Twin and comapred to other cruisers seen here, the Roadster has a much sporty riding position with spoke wheels and an upswept platform. This too could be underpinned by the new J-Platform.

Royal Enfield also has another motorcycles coming up, the names of which are the Hunter and the Sherpa. Its not known what exactly these motorcycles are going to be but there are speculations that the Sherpa name could be used for an adventure motorcycle, possibly a higher capacity Himalayan. It remains to be seen on what motorcycle does Royal Enfield put the Hunter name. The new bikes are likely to be launched in India by early-2021.
