The deliveries of 2020 Mahindra Thar will commence from the 1st of November. Our sources hint that the waiting period is around 2 months.
The test drives of 2020 Mahindra Thar have finally commenced and the bookings are also ongoing. The manufacturer has confirmed that the deliveries will commence from 1st of November, next month. Since the launch, we have seen many posts of people suggesting that more bookings have come for the LX Diesel-Manual variant.
Our dealership sources further suggest that the waiting period is up to 2 months, which might also increase soon. There’s no confirmation if the waiting period will further increase, but as of now, its 2 months from the booking date. In just 4 days of prices being announced, the SUV received around 10,000 bookings.

While we are yet to get an upgrade on this statement, but based on customer feedback and dealership feedbacks, 2020 Mahindra Thar LX Diesel-Manual is the best selling model. Inquiries for the AX diesel-manual is also quite high, but most of them are going for the top-end variant itself.
Prices of new Thar start at Rs 9.80 Lakhs up to Rs 13.75 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). The LX Diesel-Manual variant specifically is priced at Rs 12.85 Lakhs. The base AX variant is priced at Rs 10.85 Lakhs with the diesel-manual combination. The new Thar comes with a 2.2 Litre diesel engine and a 2.0 Litre petrol engine, both paired with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter unit.
Thar comes with a 4-seater configuration for the LX variants and 6-seater for the AX variants. It comes with a soft top, a hard top and a convertible soft top roof options. Features onboard include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Real Time Adventure statistics, cruise control, standard 4X4 with low range transfer case, dual airbags and rear parking sensors.
