The limited Red and White Edition of the Volkswagen Polo and Vento come withy unique paint schemes which are very attractive. It however does not come at a premium, and in case of the Vento, is more affordable than the variant its based on.

The festive season is just round the corner and we will see a number of Special Edition models from several manufacturers to ramp up sales during this period. Following the launch of the Kia Seltos Anniversary Edition, Volkswagen has now launched special Red and White Edition of both the Polo and Vento in India. The Red and White Editions are based on the newly introduced Polo Highline Plus AT and the Vento Highline AT variant. In fact, they are solely available on the automatic variants of both the cars. Here’s a look the the pricing of both the models and how they compare with the top-spec models as well.

In terms of pricing, the Red and White Edition of the Polo Highline Plus AT is identical to the standard Highline Plus AT that was introduced sometime ago. The Vento Red and White edition is however more affordable than the standard Highline AT variant by Rs 70,000 and that’s a huge bargain. It must also be mentioned that the Highline Plus AT variant for the Polo and the Highline AT variant for the Vento were just introduced a while ago. Previously, the automatic gearbox option for the Polo and Vento were only reserved for the top-spec GT TSI AT and Highline Plus AT variants respectively.

But prices aside, it is the color scheme that really makes these limited-edition models so special. The Polo Red and White Edition can be had in three dual-tone colors – Flash Red/Black, Sunset Red/Black and Candy White/Black. The contrasting black elements include the blacked-out roof, wing mirrors and spoilers. Additionally, the Flash Red option can also be had with a contrasting white shade and it look really unique. There are also some decals on the doors and ‘Red and White’ badging on the front fenders.

As for the VW Vento, the Red and White Edition can be had in the following two color schemes – Sunset Red/Black and Candy White/Black. The Vento sadly misses out on the contrasting white shade. The decals on the doors and ‘Red and White’ badging are there on the Vento as well. Other than the unique paint scheme, the Polo and Vento remain unchanged mechanically. As for the features list, the Red and White Editions carry forward the features from the variant they are based on for both the cars without any change.

Both the Volkswagen Polo and Vento are powered by a 1.0L turbo-petrol engine which produces 110PS of power and 175Nm of peak torque. In these Red and White Editions, they are solely offered with a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. These limited edition variants add a very unique and sporty appeal to the otherwise ageing Polo and Vento. Volkswagen hopes to pull in some more customers with these attractive looking cars this festive season. The Polo rivals the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz, and the upcoming Hyundai Elite i20. The Vento meanwhile rivals the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid, Hyundai Verna, Honda City, and Toyota Yaris.
