Volkswagen Polo has received a four-star safety rating in the global NCAP crash tests, making it one of the safest cars of India. While the tests have been done on the 2016 Polo, but we all know, nothing much has changed since then. Here’s an accident that the Polo had to go through, unfortunately, despite the owner driving it very carefully. Check out the impact and how it managed to save the passengers inside.
As you can see, this Volkswagen Polo has received significant damage. The owner was driving at a speed of 90 km/hr and suddenly, the car was hit by bulls. Apparently, they were fighting amongst themselves and came on the car. The car could not be controlled at that moment and the driver ended up crashing his car onto them. The damage you can see here is huge and will create a huge bill.

The front driver portion including bumpers, fog lamps and headlamps have been damaged. The bumper looks like, has been torn off and you can see some engine components clearly. The alloy wheels are in good shape and do not look damaged. Further, the side fender and the driver side door has also received some damage. The fitting of the door has come out, which is a big deal.
The owner says that all of the passengers in the car were safe and escaped without any injury. Seeing many worse accidents than this, we can surely confirm that all Volkswagen cars have good build quality. Despite being costlier and having a high cost of maintenance, they offer decent safety to the owners. Even Vento has scored 5-star safety rating in the Latin NCAP, which used the Indian version itself.
BS6 Volkswagen Polo comes with a new 1.0 Litre three-cylinder TSI engine that is good for 110 PS and 172 Nm of peak torque. Engine options include a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT. The existing MPI engine continues to be sold for the base spec trims, paired with a 5-speed MT. Due to the BS6 norms, the 1.2 Litre turbo petrol engine and the 1.5 TDI were discontinued. Along with that, it also lost the loveable DSG gearbox.
