Here is one of the earliest ownership reviews of the 2020 Mahindra Thar. Its deliveries have commenced already across the country.
The popularity of 2020 Mahindra Thar is soaring by the day, as the demand and waiting period are increasing rapidly. Meanwhile, the deliveries have also commenced across the country with more than 2000 – 2500 units delivered pan-India. Here is a ownership review of the Thar LX Diesel-Manual Hard Top variant after the owner has lived it with it for nearly 2 weeks.
The owner is one of the earliest owners of Delhi NCR and he got his Thar on 7th of November. It costed him Rs 16.14 Lakhs on-road which also included accessories worth Rs 50,000. After living with it for nearly 2 weeks and driving for about 1500 kilometres, the owner has found some positives and negatives both.

The owner feels that the acceleration is very brisk and Thar Diesel is quick to accelerate. He was able to achieve a top speed of around 160 km/hr, which seems quite adequate. As per the owner, it felt very stable and confident while cruising at high speeds, which was something missing in the old Thar.
In terms of comfort, the driver has less footwell area, which creates a problem while driving for long time. Further, the owner feels that Thar is quite loaded with features and definitely an improvement over the previous generation. In his 1500 kilometre stint till now, the owner has filled up diesel worth Rs 10,000. That translates to nearly 12-13 kmpl worth fuel efficiency.
The owner is quite satisfied with the 2020 Mahindra Thar and feels it is a real VFM product. Like the previous Thar was easily modified, he feels this one might not need it because Mahindra already has done it. One complaint that the owner has is that he was forced to take accessories worth Rs 50,000 which he could have easily gotten for Rs 10,000.
