We have been reporting you with spy shots of the Jeep Compass facelift for quite a few months and now, Jeep has finally unveiled the updated SUV at the 2020 Guangzhou International Motor Show. With the facelift, the Compass now gets tweaked exterior styling and completely revamped interiors. Jeep has also unveiled the facelift for the Compass Trailhawk variant. The Compass facelift will make it to India sometime in 2021 with these updates but it is expected to remain unchanged under the hood here in India. Let’s take a closer look at what’s in store.
Jeep Compass Facelift Exterior Styling
Although the design updates aren’t as comprehensive as was expected, there’s still a lot going around here. First up, the headlamps are a lot sleeker than before with the lower portion being a little more angular than earlier. The headlamp inserts are new as well and we expect full-LED lights to be standard on most of the variants across the range. Although the grille remains the same in the size, the details are all-new with prominent honeycomb-like inserts.
The lower bumper is however completely new and features a new contrast black trim that runs end-to-end connecting the two fog lamps at either ends. The LED DRLs come integrated within the main headlamp cluster. At the back, the Jeep Compass facelift does not feature any significant changes. The lower bumper is almost the same as the outgoing model while the tail lamps have been mildly reprofiled with new inserts and blackened bits.
Jeep Compass Trailhawk Facelift
The Trailhawk variant is the more rugged and off-road oriented variant of the Compass, and just as its predecessor, it gets a unique design for the bumper. It also gets a blacked-out version of the Compass’ new honeycomb-like grille, dual-tone hood along with the trademark red hooks at the front and rear bumpers. There are even new red decals on the hood and of course, the Trailhawk badging on the front fender and tailgate. The Compass Trailhawk also gets a different design for the alloy wheels.

The system can receive over-the-air updates and even comes with integrated Amazon Alexa support. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support are also particularly nice additions. The dashboard now feels a lot kore premium too with double-stitched leather inserts and brushed aluminium-like trim.
The AC vents to are much slimmer and the HVAC controls too have been revised. In terms of features, there’s a new three-spoke steering wheel and a full-digital instrument cluster. The Compass otherwise continues with its light grey leather seats and the panoramic sunroof just as the pre-facelift model.

The Compass facelift will however remain unchanged under the hood here in India. It will continue with its updated BS6-engine lineup that includes a 173hp, 2.0-litre diesel and 163hp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard with both engines. Additionally, the petrol engine gets a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox while the diesel gets a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The changes are however expected to carry a premium over the current model’s price which ranges from Rs 16.49 lakh to Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Tucson, Skoda Karoq and even the upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross.
