Here is an accident involving Ford Freestyle where it went through a high-speed crash but the airbags did not deploy.
Ford Freestyle is among the very few hatchbacks in India that offer six airbags as a safety feature. Other than Freestyle and Figo, only the new Hyundai i20 offers this feature. Also, we know the strong build quality of the Freestyle as we have seen many incidents of it. Here is another example of it, where there are many questions raised.
The owner says that his four months old Ford Freestyle was used by her wife for daily commuting. Recently while travelling at night, it hit a divider at high speed and rolled over a couple of times due to the impact. You can see that the suspension has broken off, tyres twisted and heavy dents on the car.

However, the cabin seems to be intact and even the pillars are not affected. The boot has been unlocked due to the impact and even the rear windscreen has been shattered. The lady driving the car has sustained heavy injuries and she was alone in the car. The owner feels disappointed as the airbags have not been deployed.
The top-end Titanium Plus variant seen here comes with six airbags, all of which have not been deployed. If noticed carefully, the impact is not seen on the front and that’s why the dual airbags have not come. The sensors for the other airbags are not located where the impact has actually happened. Also, the doors are in proper shape, which seems like one of the reason for airbags to not work. The other one could be that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
Ford Freestyle has not gone through any crash tests till now, but Figo and Aspire have received four-stars respectively. All three of them get six airbags on the top-end Titanium Plus variant, while the lower variants get dual front airbags. Other notable safety bits on Freestyle include traction control, ESC and rear parking camera.
