Kia Sonet is the hot selling SUV in India right now, registering more than 10,000 units sold previous month. It comes with many premium features, safety highlights and also a lot of engine/gearbox options. Talking specifically about safety, it offers many features that do not even come on other sub compact SUVs.
Here is the first accident of Kia Sonet reported in India. This accident happened in Karnataka and looks like a brand new car. The ribbon is also not taken off but there’s a permanent number plate installed. The car was travelling at high speed on a two-lane highway when the driver lost control of the car.

Further, the car rolled over a couple of times and was rescued upside down itself. Due to the high speed and impact, it also hit an electric pole which also has been uprooted. Quickly, the locals rescued the passengers inside and first turned over the car. The airbags have not been deployed since the impact has not come up on the front.
Also, seeing the wheels, it is confirmed that either it is the HTK or HTK+ variant, which only gets dual front airbags as standard. The car has taken up a huge impact as the front portion has been damaged along with the fenders as well. The doors have also been crumpled along with the window being shattered. The pillars, however, are intact and if you see the cabin, it withstood the impact completely.
This particular variant comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with standard. If it is the HTK+ variant then it will also get rear parking camera. The top-end variants will come with six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, VSM, drive modes and traction control mode.
