MG Hector is reportedly getting a facelift soon as it has been spotted semi camouflaged with a couple of cosmetic upgrades.
MG Hector has completed more than a year in India and is still going strong. It is still very popular and based on that, even the ZS EV, Hector Plus and Gloster are gaining popularity. Seeing the latest spy shots, we are expecting Hector to get a minor facelift soon as it has been spotted testing near its manufacturing plant.
Based on these spy shots, we can ascertain that the changes will be related to cosmetic upgrades only. Despite being camouflaged, we can spot the biggest difference that is the alloy wheels. The size remains the same but the design is different. Further, some changes are also spotted on the grille and bumpers.

Other than that, we cannot spot any difference as such. Inside the cabin, it can receive a refreshed colour theme with an upgraded infotainment system. While Hector’s 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system already has the OTA feature, but in terms of interface, there could be couple of changes. Otherwise, Hector is fully loaded with features that are not even found in its competitors.
Another big change that we are expecting could be the introduction of Diesel-Auto combination. All of its competitors in the price range offer a diesel-auto combination and that is currently, an important function. Right now, it comes with a 2.0 Litre turbo-diesel engine that produces 170 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed manual stick.
Currently, prices of Hector commence at Rs 12.83 Lakhs up to Rs 18.08 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Other two engine options include a 1.5 Litre turbo-petrol motor and the same engine with a mild-hybrid technology as well. The turbo motor comes mated additionally with a 7-speed DCT. The same engine options are also available on the 6-seater Hector Plus.
