Here is an accident where a Maruti Alto 800 had to go through a major accident and the owner came dissatisfied with the build quality.
Maruti Alto 800 has not gone through a NCAP crash test till now, but as it only gets a single driver side airbag as standard it cannot score any points. Here is an example of an accident faced by Alto 800 after being rammed into by a truck from a side. While the impact is huge, the owner feels that the build quality is not good.
As per the owner, a roadways driver smashed into the Maruti Alto 800 from the side. The truck further dragged the Alto for several metres after which the car went off-the road. Luckily, no one was hurt in this accident and all the passengers travelling in the car same out just with minor injuries.

Both the doors on the left are completely damaged, but can be still repaired to new condition. As per the owner, even the chassis has been damaged from the left side. Both the C-pillars have also taken a hit along with the roof from both the sides. The impact is seen on the left side where the truck hit and also on the opposite side.
Further, the tyre from the rear left axle became loose. The car has been repaired to its stock condition is only the paintjob is remaining. If the insurance is fully functional, then it must have hardly costed the owner anything. However, expect the costs to cross more than a Lakh, despite it being a Maruti and the most affordable car from the manufacturer.
Maruti has discontinued Alto K10 a couple of months ago due to BS6 norms. Soon, in a couple of months, even the Alto 800 will make an exit from the market to make way for a completely new entry level hatchback. Alto 800 is priced starting from Rs 2.89 Lakhs up to Rs 4.36 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
