Tata Harrier Camo Edition Launched – All You Need To Know!

The new Tata Harrier Camo Edition comes with a unique Camo green paint shade along with several blacked-out bits on the outside and inside, just like the Dark Edition. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Tata Motors has launched yet another new variant of the Harrier called the Camo Edition. Prices for the Tata Harrier Camo Edition start from Rs 16.50 and go up to Rs 20.30 lakh. Just like the Harrier Dark Edition, the Camo Edition is too only offered on the top-spec trims, specifically all above the XT. Compared to the standard Harrier, the Camo Edition has been priced at a premium ranging from Rs 10,000-30,000. The Harrier Camo Edition essentially brings some exterior and interior updates but remains unchanged mechanically. Here’s a quick look at the pricing of the Tata Harrier Camo Edition.

Tata Harrier Camo Edition Exterior

Just like the Harrier Dark Edition comes painted in an exclusive black shade, the Camo Edition comes painted in a new Camo green paint shade. Although this green shade may be new on the Harrier, it actually looks pretty similar to the Foliage Green paint shade that’s offered on the Nexon sub-compact.

Apart from the new green shade, the chrome details from the standard Harrier have been blacked out just as in the Harrier Dark Edition. That includes the lower part of the grille, the headlight surrounds, side skirts, the lower section of the glass house and also the strip below the tailgate. The alloy wheels have been blacked out as well.

Tata Motors is also offering two additional accessory packages – Camo Stealth and Camo Stealth+ – which are priced at Rs 27,000 and Rs 50,000, respectively. These packages add some more accessories both on the inside and outside. On the exterior, you get a Harrier lettering on the bonnet, a side step, front parking sensors and special Camo decals on the roof, hood and doors with these packages.

The interiors of the Harrier Camo edition isn’t however much different from the Dark Edition. The interiors on the Camo Edition sport and all-black theme. The seats come draped in black leatherette upholstery but here in the Camo Edition, it gets contrast Camo green stitching. The faux-wood trim on the dashboard from the standard Harrier has been replaced with a ‘Blackstone Matrix’ trim on the dash, just like the Dark Edition.

The accessory packages further add 3D moulded floor and trunk mats, new OMEGARC scuff plates, sunshades and a forest camo themed back seat organiser. Tata hasn’t however altered the features or equipment list on the Camo Edition as compared to the regular trims. The XT variant continues with features such as automatic projector headlights, LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 7.0-inch touchscreen Infotainment system with 6 speakers, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, steering-mounted audio controls, push-button start, automatic climate control and wipers.

Meanwhile, the top-spec XZ and XZA (automatic) trims continue with features such as HID Xenon projector headlights, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob, a nine-speaker JLB sound system, a larger 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7.0-inch digital display in the instrument cluster, and 60:40 split-folding rear seats. The trims with the ‘+’ suffix additional come with a panoramic sunroof.

What’s under the hood?

There have been no changes under the hood of the Harrier Camo Edition. It continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine that produces 170hp and 350Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to either a  6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Going ahead, Tata Motors will launch more models under the Dark Edition and Camo Edition theme as they had trademarked earlier this year. They are also working on the flagship Gravitas SUV that’s slated for a launch sometime next year. As for the Harrier, it continues to rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector and Mahindra XUV500.
