Toyota has silently dropped the Innova Touring Sport variant from their official website in India. The Touring Sport variant was launched in 2017 and came across as a sportier looking variant of the standard MPV.
Toyota had launched a sportier looking variant of the Innova Crysta called the Touring Sport back in 2017 but now, this variant has been discontinued. Toyota has dropped the Innova Touring Sport variant from their official website. The Touring Sport variant essentially came with cosmetic enhancements over the standard model and it looked quite sinister for an Innova Crysta. The model was priced between Rs 19.53 lakh and Rs 24.67 lakh before being discontinued.
The Innova Touring Sport got the same engine options under the hood as the regular Innova. That included the 150PS 2.4 litre diesel engine or the 166PS 2.7 litre petrol engine. Both the engines could be had either with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. The automatic gearbox was however only reserved for the top-spec ZX trim. Depending on the trim, the Touring Sport variant commanded a premium of Rs 53,000 to Rs 1.38 lakh over the regular Innova Crysta.
The Touring Sport variant had a distinct identity of itself and you could easily tell it apart from the regular Innova. In fact, the differentiators were mainly exterior cosmetic enhancements which included blacked-out alloy wheels, smoked headlamps and fog lamp surrounds as well as a black plastic trim connecting the tail lamps. There was also a ‘Touring Sport’ badge on the tailgate and it was exclusively available in two paint shades – Wildfire Red and Pearl White.

On the inside, the Touring Sport variant featured all-black upholstery and contrast red stitching. Even the faux-wood trim on the dashboard came finished in burgundy-red while the wood on the top of the steering was finished in black. The equipment list otherwise remained identical to the standard Innova Crysta for each of the trims it was available on. Some of the highlight features on the Innova Crysta include a touchscreen infotainment with on board navigation, cruise control, climate control, auto headlamps, seven airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and traction control.

The Touring Sport variant aside. Toyota has a facelift coming up for the Innova Crysta very soon. The model has already debuted in Indonesia and it is expected to make it to our country by next year. The facelifted Innova Crysta gets a significant design overhaul and is also expected to get a few more features on the inside. Prices could start around Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of the MG Hector Plus and Mahindra Marazzo.
