9 New Car Launches In 2021 – Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Skoda Rapid, XUV500, Tata Gravitas And More!

Maruti Suzuki Celerio

Maruti Suzuki Celerio has been spied testing in India a few times now. Celerio is all set to launch in 2021 and is speculated to have bigger dimensions than the outgoing model. There will be new design elements like the LED Projector headlamps and a crossover-like design. Although, it might be mechanically similar to the previous model and continue with the same 1.0l petrol engine that makes 68hp and 90Nm.

Tata HBX

Tata HBX - Hornbill Concept

Tata HBX was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. It is also known as the Hornbill. It is a micro SUV that will sit below the Nexon in Tata’s lineup. The concept at the Auto Expo will be largely the same as the production version. Pratap Bose, Vice President, Global Desing, Tata Motors has confirmed that the concept car was 95% a production version. A very muscular and bold structure of the concept is exactly what we will see in the production variants as well. Expected to launch by the end of 2021, this will take Tata Motors in the sub-4m segment further ahead.

Tata Gravitas

Tata Gravitas

Tata Gravitas is the 7-seater version of the Harrier. It is longer and taller than the Harrier to accommodate extra people. There will be a 6 or 7 seat configuration on offer, with the 6-seater offered with captain seats in the middle row. It will be powered by a more powerful 2.0l 170hp and 350Nm diesel engine.

Renault Kiger

Renault will be launching its sub-compact SUV, the Kiger, in 2021. It is based on the same platform as the Triber. It will have the same engine options as the Nissan Magnite: a 1.0l naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0l turbo-petrol mated to either a manual or an AMT or a CVT.

Jeep Compass

The Jeep Compass is set to receive a facelift in 2021. Although the changes to the exterior are limited, Jeep has completely revamped the interior of the Compass. The dashboard is entirely re-done and there is also a new steering wheel. There will also be a full-digital instrument display and a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It will, however, continue with the same 2l diesel and 1.4l turbo-petrol engines.

Volkswagen Taigun

Volkswagen Taigun

The Taigun is a mid-size SUV that will be largely locally manufactured in India to ensure a competitive price to rival the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. It will most likely come with a 1.5l turbo-petrol engine making 130hp. It will have a typical VW design language with a lot of sharps creases and cuts and the quality and fit and finish of the interior are expected to be top-notch.

Mahindra XUV500

The XUV500 is a much-anticipated SUV from Mahindra that is due for launch in 2021. It has been spied testing in India a lot and will come with Mahindra’s new mStallion 2.0l TGDI turbo-petrol making an impressive 190hp and 380Nm. The mStallion engines are developed by Mahindra to bring down friction by huge margins to improve efficiency and performance.

Vovlo S60

The new S60 will be available in our markets in March 2021. It is powered by a 2l turbo-petrol making a 190hp and 300Nm. This is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. As is the case with every Volvo, it has a ton of active safety features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Semi-Autonomous Driving Aid and much more.

MG ZS Petrol

The MG ZS petrol is a Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos rival. It will most likely come with a 1.3l turbo petrol or 1.5l naturally aspirated petrol engine. It is expected to launch sometime in 2021.
