Tata Altroz New Turbo Petrol Engine with Sport Mode
The talking point of this unveil is the new turbo petrol engine. This engine produces 110PS @ 5500 RPM and 140Nm @ 1500-5000 RPM. The power to weight ratio comes out to be 100PS per ton. This engine will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox to enhance the driver’s experience. Apart from this, there are 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine on offer as well. At the moment, there is no mention of an automatic transmission of any kind.
The other talking point of this engine is the Sport mode. This is again catered to render a spirited driving performance. What that does is that it alters the engine mapping and throttle responses to achieve 25% more torque and power on the tap of the accelerator pedal. This is especially helpful in overtaking scenarios. This, however, will surely take a hit in terms of the mileage. Talking of mileage, Tata claimes a decent mileage of 18.13 kmpl.
