The cars booked online in January and February will be delivered around mid-March. Let us take a look at what the S60 brings with it.
Volvo S60 – Exterior and Interior
Now, the Volvo S60 looks typically Volvo, which is not a bad thing at all. At the front, the typical LED Thor’s Hammer headlamps with Automatic active bending function and chrome vertical slat grille gives it a look that we are all familiar with. The redesigned bumpers and chrome surround LED fog lamps make the car look very sporty indeed. Apart from that, the creases on the bonnet give the car a very neat finish. The side profile makes one realises the long wheelbase of the car at 2872mm. The car stands at 4,761mm long, 1,850mm wide and 1,431mm high. The overall dimensions make it look a lot more sporty than its larger sibling the S90. The rear is accentuated by the C-shape LED tail lamps and chrome surrounded dual exhaust tips.

On the inside, however, it is a much prominent step up from its predecessor. The interiors sport an all-black theme to make it look sporty but there are certain wood inserts on the dashboard to give a more textured feel to the inside. The dashboard also features leather inserts. The centre holds the portrait-oriented 9-inch Digital Infotainment System with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, vertical Air-con vents, Harman Kardon Music System, Powered Driver and Passenger Seats with Memory function, 4-zone Automatic Climate Control, Panoramic Sunroof, Satellite Navigation, Wireless Charging, 12.3-inch Digital Instrument Cluster and much more. It will be fair to say that this is a fully-loaded trim.
Volvo S60 – Safety
We have to dedicate a special subheading to the safety equipment list of Volvo. Volvo has always been the pioneer in safety equipment in the world. They take the safety of the car and passengers very seriously. It is the USP of Volvo as a brand. This S60 boasts of securing an impressive 5-star rating at the toughest testing organization in the world, the Euro NCAP. So you can be assured that you are sitting in one of the safest cars around. The safety kit includes 6 Airbags, City Safety with Automatic Braking to avoid collisions, the Pilot Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control which can support and assist the driver with braking, acceleration and cornering upto 130 km/h on well-marked roads, Run-off Road Mitigation, Oncoming Lane Mitigation and Steering Assistance System.

Volvo S60 – Engine and Rivals
The Volvo S60 comes in the T4 Inscription variant which has a 2.0-litre petrol engine making 190hp and 300Nm. This engine comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This makes the car go from 0-100 kph in about 9 secs. This is the sole engine and gearbox combination that the Volvo comes with. The rivals of the Volvo S60 in India will include the likes of Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class and Jaguar XE. Will people opt for the Volvo in comparison to the other rivals because of its safety equipment, remains to be seen.
