Hyundai Releases Design Sketches Of The Alcazar (7-Seat SUV) – Expected Engines, Features And Engines!

Hyundai has released the official sketches of the inside of its upcoming 7-seat SUV, the Alcazar. Alcazar is the SUV based on the most successful SUVs in the country, the Creta. It is, essentially, the long-wheelbase version of the Creta. Hyundai wants to cash in on the success of Creta to enter into the 7-seat SUV segment to expand its foothold in or market further. Hyundai is already present in almost every segment of our market. This will ensure that Hyundai doesn’t lose any sales in any segment. The global debut of the Alcazar is set to take place on April 6, 2021, and this will shake up the segment, which recently saw the launch of Tata Safari and updated MG Hector Plus. Let us take a look at what to expect from the upcoming 7-seat Alcazar.

Hyundai Alcazar – Exterior

Hyundai Alcazar Sketches

Hyundai has been known for extreme styling off late with their i20 and Creta being quite polarising in terms of design language. The Alcazar might not be too different from the latest Hyundais either. The front will differentiate itself from the regular Creta but is likely to remain more or less in the same theme as the Creta. The major deviation from the Creta is at the rear and the sides. The sides show the floating roof effect with blacked-out C-pillars. Therefore, we can safely assume that the front end will continue like the current-gen Creta. The rear might well host some key changes and modern appearance with LED tail lamps and strips running across the breadth of the SUV, but it will also not be too understated. This implies that we might have a sleek, modern and bold-looking SUV on our hands. The sides will, of course, be longer than the regular Creta to accommodate the third row of seating with a longer wheelbase and overhangs.

Hyundai Alcazar – Interior, Safety and Convenience Features

The interior sketches show the basic layout of the cabin space of the Alcazar. The interior cabin will host a ton of features as is the case with all Hyundais. The overall cabin is expected to be plush and of high quality. The sketches show a 6-seat arrangement with individual captain seats in the middle row along with armrests in the middle. Expected features include a large Digital Touchscreen Infotainment Display at the centre console, which will come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with Bluetooth Connectivity, a large Panoramic Sunroof, Wireless Charging, Connected Car Tech, Voice Commands, Steering Controls, Cruise Control, Multiple Airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, Hill-Start Assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors and much more. We might see a dual-tone interior design scheme.

Hyundai Alcazar – Engines, Prices and Competition

The engine options for the 7-seat version will likely be carried on from the regular Creta. This means that there will be two petrol and one diesel engine options on offer. There will be a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol making 114hp and 145Nm, a 1.4-litre turbo petrol making 138hp and 242Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel making 113hp and 250Nm. There will be all sorts of transmission options including manual and automatic. The level of flexibility is something we have come to expect from Hyundai products. The prices of the 7-seat Creta are expected to be somewhere around Rs 14 lakh to Rs 19 lakh, ex-showroom. With that price point, it can prove to be a tough competitor to the recently launched Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the upcoming Mahindra XUV500.
