Renault Kiger vs Mahindra XUV300 – Features, Engines, Specs And Prices Comparison!

Recently launched Renault Kiger has been making headlines due to its tag of being the most affordable compact SUV in the country. The aim of the Kiger, as stated by Renault, was not only to compete against the rivals but also persuade customers to buy the Kiger, if they had planned to buy a premium hatchback. The price overlap is really interesting and gives the buyers the option of owning an SUV for the price of the premium hatchback. Having already delivered 1,100 units on the first day of sale, it seems like this strategy has begun to work. We have already experienced this with the Magnite, which is still coping up with the demand and has already received over 40,000 bookings in a matter of a couple of months. Renault is experienced in this field because it has already done it with the Kwid and Triber, both of which have been volume drivers for the French carmaker. But in this post, we shall compare the Kiger with the XUV300. So, let us dive straight into it!

Renault Kiger vs Mahindra XUV300 – Exterior and Dimensions

The Renault Kiger features two honeycomb-shaped chrome effects running across the front grille and LED DRLs placed on the bonnet. The LED headlamp cluster is placed down below on the bumper, which is encased in the chrome unit. Along with this, the sporty front bumper with skid plates gives it a tall and muscular stance. The sides are accentuated by the 16-inch black diamond-cut finished alloys, wheel arch cladding with roof rails and dual-tone roof. When we move to the rear, we are greeted by the LED tail lamp unit with glossy black inserts, which make the look very modern indeed.

The Mahindra XUV300, on the other hand, is one of the best-looking SUVs in the segment. The 7-shaped LED DRLs on the edges of the chrome grille, along with the sleek LED headlamps give the front a modern appearance. The overall styling is very sporty with front bumpers and fog lamp housing. The bonnet line is pretty flat and gives it a sturdy and muscular stance. On the sides, the 17-inch alloy wheels also enhance the styling element of the SUV. The LED tail lamps give the XUV300 a distinct rear look. Overall, it looks more like an SUV than the Kiger. But then again, looks are subjective.

Mahindra XUV300
Parameter Renault Kiger Mahindra XUV300
Length 3991 mm 3995 mm
Width 1750 mm 1821 mm
Height 1600 mm (with roof rails) 1627 mm
Wheelbase 2500 mm 2600 mm

The XUV300 is substantially wider and taller than eh Kiger and has a longer wheelbase which translates into acres of rear legroom and cabin space. However, the point of contention is the boot space. For an SUV 259 litres is really low and in fact, it is the lowest in the segment. That has always been XUV300’s weakness.
